CoachSafely Georgia teams up with Emory Youth Sports Medicine for webinar on youth sports safety

We lost the many benefits of youth sports in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Everything from regular-season community leagues to travel-ball tournaments was shut down to try to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Now youth sports are coming back, but parents, coaches, administrators and educators are concerned about how our youngest athletes can return to play safely. Two professional organizations dedicated to keeping children active, healthy and safe through youth sports are teaming up to address this issue within the broader context of youth sports safety.

Emory Youth Sports Medicine and the CoachSafely Georgia Foundation invite you to join them for an online panel discussion. Youth Sports Safety: A Georgia Community Huddle will take place on Thursday Aug. 13th from 5-7 p.m. ET. Parents, youth coaches, administrators, educators and anyone interested in the critically important subject of youth sports safety are welcome to register for this timely conference at no charge at this link: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_CzZbhNAcT1iwzAft0x_7BA

Discussion topics for the conference will include:

  • Safe return to practice and competition regarding COVID-19
  • Recognition of concussions and other youth sports injuries
  • Optimal youth athlete development and training
  • The CoachSafely concept of injury recognition and prevention
  • CoachSafely Georgia’s mission

The list of scheduled presenters at the conference includes a Who’s Who of distinguished medical and youth sports professionals dedicated to youth sports safety.
